Cathy for Carol
Carol is sleeping after trying to get some dinner down...today has been a tougher day than the three previous days this week, but still so much better than the first go-round at Stanford. The neurological side affects appear to be less this week...please keep praying that this would remain the case for the next few days and into next week...thank you.
The doctors are thinking Carol will be able to come home tomorrow (Friday) evening because she has been tolerating this round of treatment so well. YAY!
One of the most difficult things for Carol especially during the latter part of this week of intense chemo and IL2 is the inability to concentrate...she finds it hard to read or even watch TV. She is so used to being productive that not being able "to do" is very frustrating to her. Please pray that God would protect her heart and mind at this time...and allow the scriptures she has memorized throughout the years to surface above the fogginess to comfort and sooth her mind and soul.
We read your comments on the blogspot together this evening and Carol found much joy in your encouraging words to her...especially the words of scripture and hymns that you offered...they were a healing balm to her spirits (and mine). You are all treasured in Carol's heart and she is so very thankful for you...the Lord working through the body of Christ is awesome to behold!
May God keep you in grace and peace.
P.S. I'm editing this after the first publish earlier tonight...Mary C came in and brought fun and laughter at 8:00 pm this evening...we took a picture of the "hand off" from "Thing One" to "Thing Two"...ask us or Carol about that!!!

Dear Sweet Carol...Spirit Waltz
Your cup of grace is deeper than, is deeper than the ocean
Your strong embrace is wider than, is wider than the sky
Jesus, my heart cannot break enough For your love, a well that runs deep within my soul
YOUR perfect words go farther than tomorrow...And when my world shakes YOU pull me through...YOU pull me through the storm.
Sending you my love and prayers...
Terry (Jake's Mom :)
hi carol,
well, we had quite the storm up here in oregon last night and today. the leaves on the trees are awesome colors this time of year!!! they are golden yellow like a schoolbus, beautiful rust, and rosy red, golden brown, radiant orange. the sun shining through the leaves make them look like lamps glowing in the dark. the trees in clusters on the hills look like huge campfires amongst the other evergreens. such a beautiful sight.
i cry out for your hand of mercy to heal me
i am weak. i need your love to free me.
oh lord, my rock, my strength in weakness
come rescue me oh lord
you are my hope!
your promise never fails me
and my desire is to follow you forever.
for you are good
for you are good
for you are gooooood to me
for you are good
for you are good
for you are goooooood to me!
much love and hugs dear friend,

So glad to hear Carol might go home today. Praying her next PET scan will show improvement. I wish I was there to sing to you, in my croaky voice, "How great the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure, that He should give His only Son, to make a wretch His treasure." We are mightily loved even when we can't be "productive." Rest in what you know of the Father's love, my friend. :)
Love, Poppy
Dear Carol and Team Carol-
Gods continual strength, peace, grace
to you all. May his presence bring fullness of joy! A level of joy that can only be reached in times like these.

TAKE TIME
Take time to think;
it is the source of power.
Take time to read;
it is the foundation of wisdom.
Take time to play;
it is the secret of staying young.
Take time to be quiet;
it is the opportunity to seek God.
Take time to be aware;
it is the opportunity to help others.
Take time to love and be loved;
it is God's greatest gift.
Take time to laugh;
it is the music of the soul.
Take time to be friendly;
it is the road to happiness.
Take time to dream;
it is what the future is made of.
Take time to pray;
it is the greatest power on earth.
