May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Carol is Home...Safely in the Arms of Jesus

Carol sweetly passed into the arms of Jesus at 11:51 pm on March 21st. She was surrounded by her family and several friends.

Marian Tidsbury, Carol's good friend from Canada penned this poem for Carol tonight...

Valiant warrior, standing vulnerable,
Open hearted, strong in gentleness.
Kind hearted, never giving quarter
Precious daughter, valiant warrior.

To so very many of us,
You have shown the way.

To a few of us, a special place
in your heart.

Once again, you have shown
the way;

The joy you spoke of,
you know.

The light you described,
you see.

The Lord you love,
holds you close.

You drew us with you
Sharing your wondrous journey
To the very thresholds of glory,

But then you slipped your
grasp from ours

Ran ahead into the joy
into the light,
into the the arms awaiting you.

Valiant warrior, precious daughter - home.

Memorial service is tentatively planned for Saturday, March 28...details to follow.

So many feel so blessed to have had a mere moment in Carol's presence. She radiated God's love and grace until her last moment. Though she will be sorely missed- she once again is showing us the way. Someone said, "Isn't it just like Carol - to show us the way- to lead us on toward our eventual, eternal and most high goal- to run into the loving arms of Jesus. My thoughts, prayers and tears go out to Carol's family. Thank you for sharing your mother, wife, grandmother with so many of us. Our lives will be eternally changed. Mark, hold steadfast and know that we love you!

The ransomed of the Lord will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. Isaiah 51:11

Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end. Isaiah 60:20

Dearest Family,
I was hoping to visit Carol this week, but now I will have to wait until I get to heaven to have that visit. How appropriate that Carol would enter into Heaven on the Lord's day to begin her first day in Eternity! She left here and stepped into the most amazing Worship service she has ever been at! How awesome is our God! Our love and prayers for God's continued comfort & strength as you await your own reunion with her! Bless you!

Mark, Tim and Greg, I feel a great sadness tonight that Carol is no longer here on this earth. To hear her laughter and her great sense of humor! As a child I have so many fond memories, I remember the cherry tree was blooming and the boys(Tim and my brother Jeff) were spitting pits at me. I ran in crying to carol, She took one look at me and said, "I don't see any blood!, Get on out there and play!" I was absolutely shocked, but she was encouraging me to be as strong as she knew I could be! I have thought of Carol often as I have said the same words to my own daughter now! Don't get hung up on the small challenges, press on, you can do it, God is your maker after all! That was the message I got from Carol often . It doesn't matter if you are riding in your car on the freeway and your car starts to chug and sputter because you have forgotten to put gas in the car! No worries for Carol, God could handle this one. I sat in the back seat as she prayed and when we did make it to the gas station, there Carol was telling everyone how God can even help the forgetful out of challenge! I think what amazed me most was that carol didn't panic, it was like she had trained for this and knew that God was there for her she pressed on with peace and joy! Always finding the humor, and laughing at herself too! Those are just a few of the memories. Thank you Tim and Greg for sharing your mom with so many people over the years! I am sure it wasn't always easy, but thank you! I have been blessed to have your mom's influence on my young life! My love to you all! Heidi (Hopkins) Bailey

"How lovely is Thy dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!
My soul has longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord.
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a place where she may lay her head, and the swallow a nest for herself where she may lay her young.
How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You!
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand outside.
For the Lord is shining like a shield and the Lord gives grace and glory;
No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly"
Ps 84

My heart is very near to you all.
lovingly,
donna

I just found out this morning, Tues. China time. I wish I had checked the blog earlier. Tears are still streaming down my cheeks and Tim is comforting me as I write this. I am so happy for my friend that she is finally whole and is where she has longed to be.... with her Best Friend and Savior and Redeemer. But I'm sad for myself that I won't be able to see her again on this earth. She was one person I always enjoyed reconnecting with when we took our furloughs. Thursday morning studies with Carol and the gals. Lunches and China talk at the Porter's house. We always knew Mark & Carol would listen to our stories and struggles. :-) Early morning Peets with Carol. Fun times. We had some great talks last time I was home and I'm so grateful for that. She gave so much to everyone. She was in the delivery room when my son Micah was born. All our love to Mark, who has also given so much to our family. Mark & Carol are in our top 5 "Most Important People in Our Lives". Wish we could be at the memorial service. Prayers are being lifted up for Mark, Tim, Greg and the rest of the family and close friends. How privileged we all were to have her in our lives.
Much love and looking forward to the reunion in heaven, Marilyn and Tim Parks in China

I am still digesting the news. knowing that she went home provides peace but it's still unimaginable somehow. I am so grateful to God that He made it possible for me to see Carol this winter. I got to know her in Hungary and she made a huge impact in my life. Her life truly is an inspiration to anyone who knew her. MY heart goes out to the family, and to all of us who loved her and miss her.

Carol was special in the lives of our two little boys, especially Micah since she was there at his birth. I put our two 4 year olds to bed last night with the story of Jesus at Lazarus' tomb, where Jesus says "I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me will never die but will live forever." We awoke this morning to the news of Carol (I was sad and Marilyn cried a lot). Just as Jesus called Lazarus "Come out!", He has now called Carol into His resurrected Presence. And we're all going to get to see her again when our bodies are all called out of the graves at the final Resurrection. All but, sadly, those who don't know The I Am, The Resurrection, The Life. Let's honor Carol by following her example of sharing Her Savior often and everywhere, so her memory will result in many more again-births.
