As Carol is up in Heaven celebrating with Jesus and the angels her "great awakening"...as the scripture (Psalm 84:10a) says,
Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere
we too are going to be celebrating...a remembrance and tribute to Carol and the life she lived with us here for 68 years. With laughter and tears, joy for her life and sorrow at the missing of her, let's join together to share and encourage one another in love:
When: Saturday, March 28 at 3:00 pm
Location: Valley Bible Church
7106 Johnson Drive
Pleasanton, CA 94588
If you have a photo of Carol you'd like to share with the family please make a black and white or color copy and bring it with you...there will be a board to attach it to so we can all enjoy our shared history with Carol. It'd be fun if you have time to jot a quick note about when and where the photo was taken too!
Mark, Tim, Erika, Greg and Debbie are grateful for your prayers and support for them. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Carol’s favorite mission organizations through Valley Bible Church or to Valley Pregnancy Center in Dublin or to Shepherd's Gate in Livermore.
...Carol so loved you all...and she felt truly loved and cared for by you too...please take joy in knowing that your love helped carry her load as she made this climb.

Family-How wonderful to see the family of God fullfilling the will of God our Father by serving one another and carrying each others burdens. Carol new this. I just know she took joy in this. Thank you for the comforting words reminding us how loved and cared for Carol felt and she knew she was not alone on her journey. It will be quite a gathering on saturday, remembering her and the wonderful gift of love she left us all.

Dear Mark et al; I am writing from Kigali, Rwanda, I have just finished a mission trip to Goma, Congo,DRC...thanks in part to Carol's generous contribution to the trip. Her mind was always on extending His Kingdom throughout the earth. You both are true "lovers of God". I will be flying home on the 28th of March, my heart and prayers will be with you during the memorial service. I will miss her greatly and look forward to the reunion in Heaven. The Lord bless each of you richly during this time. The resounding quote of "Well done good and faithful servant" IS still echoing in heaven upon Carol's arrival this past Saturday!
Blessings!

The last time we saw Carol she looked like the photo at the top of the page. I just looked through some of the photos below and see that she had gotten very gaunt and her body was becoming thinner and frailer. But the phrase, "She doesn't look like the person I knew," doesn't apply to her because that wonderful smile, the smile I imagine looks just like Jesus', is on her face in every picture. The smile makes her visage unmistakable, regardless of how weak she had become. Now she's in unspeakable joy in His presence, His smile is her forever identity. LORD, let me learn to be more like you so that I can reflect your smile to those around me, like Carol did so well!

Oh, how I miss her...stopping by...calling to come down for a cup of tea just to talk and to pray or to walk the neighborhood. I know you all miss her too...
