Linda W and Carol at Stanford, Tuesday, Oct 28Cathy for Carol
With almost a full 24 hours of treatment behind her, Carol is starting to feel some of the side affects of the IL2 and chemo drugs. (I just counted the number of IV bags being fed into Carol's veins...a total of eight!) Dr. Reddy had set a threshold level for her platelets of 25...this morning the number dropped to 23, therefore a red blood cell transfusion was ordered to increase her platelet levels. This is a fairly common occurrence with this type of treatment so was not unexpected. Carol's other blood counts are very good. Please pray that blood count levels would remain and/or return to acceptable levels...thank you!
Carol brought along her packet of memory verses to recite and meditate on throughout the day...she would like to share Psalm 55:17 with you today. "Evening, morning and at noon, I cry out in distress and He hears my voice." As she has meditated on this verse today it has helped her mind stay focused on the Lord in what otherwise might have been a day overcast with some dread because of the foreknowledge of what might lie ahead. How wonderful to know with certainty that our Heavenly Father ALWAYS hears us...He never sleeps or slumbers! May your evening, morning and noon be filled with the knowledge that our awesome God is always with us and attunes His ear towards us in all circumstances!

Carol,
I am praying for you daily as you walk through this journey. You are such an unbelievable example and I value being able to hear your words of encouragement during this difficult and painful time. Praying for interaction with the nurses and thankful for a bed by the window...you are amazing!
I will continue to pray for healing from the ultimate healer...our Lord!!
Love you...Jen Morse
Dearest Sister,
I, too, am praying with you and for you during this week of the IL2 and chemo. Yea, verily, He hears our voice.
Sunday, in Awana, I read John 10 - well, most of it - to our Sparks club. I had a little Ty beanie baby sheep which I used to follow me and to put on my shoulder as illustration as to how close we need to be to our Good shepherd. I told them there is no time that God will not hear them if they are listening for His voice as well. I closed with John 10:28, "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand."
How blessed we are to be His sheep, to know that He hears us, but also that as His sheep, we hear His voice. We can know that it is He who speaks to us in the still of the night, in the darkness of a journey like yours, and also in the light of day. If we seek Him, we will find Him for He is not far from any of us. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is right there, every step of the way, behind and before and right beside, and even carrying you in His arms when needed.
Let me close w/ this from Deut 33:27 - "The eternal God is your refuge,/ And underneath are the everlasting arms." One of my favorite old hymns is "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms". May you be safe and secure from all alarms as you lean on the everlasting arms today and this week.
All my love in Christ Jesus our Lord, donna p
You are constantly in our prayers, Carol. My greatest prayer for you is that you will know God more intimately. He is the answer to all our needs.
If you need blood, let us know. I can't give any but Joanne has the type of universal donor blood that they want for babies. They are always calling to get her in. Have Cathy contact us at 510.483.9099 if you need her blood.
It doesn't seem you are ready for guests, but we'd love to get on your "dance card" when you are ready to "boogie."
God bless you, Dear Sister. With much love and friendship, we are your - Joanne and Uncle Jim

Carol: I am praying you will be comforted by what lies ahead, (even though I understand the dread of the illness). Ultimately, for all of us, what lies ahead is the arms of Jesus and hearing Him say, "well-done." Praying with heartache on a personal level but with joy knowing that you are still running your race with your eyes fixed on Jesus.
My deepest love in Christ, the only One who takes us through the darkest valleys.

hi carol,
'he hears our voice'
today i am singing a song for you. will you join me?
blessed be your name
in the land that is plentiful
where your streams of abundance flow
blessed be your name.
blessed be your name
when i'm found in the desert place
though i walk through the wilderness
blessed be your name.
every blessing you pour out
i'll turn back to praise
when the darkness closes in
still i will say
blessed be the name of the Lord
blessed be your name
blessed be the name of the Lord
blessed be your glorious name
blessed be your name
when the sun's shining down on me
when the world's all as it should be
blessed be your name
blessed be your name
on the road marked with suffering
though there's pain in the offering
blessed be your name
every blessing you pour out
i'll turn back to praise
when the darkness closes in
still i will say...blessed be the name of the lord
you give and take away....
my heart will choose to say
Lord Blessed be YOUR name!
hugs and much love

It's pretty hard to compete with the Lord who has been quite busy watching over you lately, but wanted you to know all the Cooper's are sending their love to you and reminding Him to give you a little slack during your down times knowing you will pay Him back in full measure when your strength returns.
Love Sue,Jim, & Family, (Riley, too)
Hi Carol and Cathy,
Thing One and Thing Two. Sounds like something Cathy would come up with for fun. Praise God for giving us laughter in the middle of serious stuff. Thanks for taking such good care of Carol for all of us Cathy.
Love to you both.
